On-Site Distance Learning Lab

On-Site Distance Learning Lab As we continue to prepare for distance learning for the first quarter of 2020-21, we will have a Distance Learning Lab to meet the “on-site” requirement for students who need a safe place to learn, as of August 17th, as mandated by Governor’s Ducey’s Executive Orders 44 and 51. Priority will be given to families enrolled in the free or reduced lunch program, students with disabilities, English language learners, and those in the care of the Arizona Department of Child Safety, including foster care.

The Distance Learning Lab will:

Be available to students who have registered for it in accordance with the Paradise registration process.
Current Paradise enrollment and the completion of this form will constitute registration.

Have wi-fi access and sufficient electrical outlets to maintain their technical device to access distance learning.

Be staffed for adult supervision by a school employee who is not a certified teacher.

Provide a safe space for students to participate in the distance learning for which they are registered as a student of Paradise Schools.

Be available for the hours of their Paradise School. For example, the Distance Learning Lab for Paradise Honors Elementary School students will be open from 7:45 AM-2:15 PM.

Accommodate our special education students on IEPs.

There will be no on-site, teacher-led learning for quarter one.

The distance learning lab will provide a place for students to work on distance learning assignments on their devices. Students will be working individually throughout the day with a lunch break.

Paradise has a limited amount of space to accommodate socially-distanced students for its Distance Learning Lab.
