ELL Services

English Language Learners are instructed in the mainstream classroom using the English Language Proficiency Standards in combination with the Arizona State Standards and Common Core Standards. All teachers are required to hold a Structured English Immersion endorsement, pursuant with Arizona state law. Each ELL student works toward their language acquisition goals set forth in their Individual Language Learner Plan in order to become proficient in the key areas of the English language: reading, writing, speaking/listening, and grammar. ELL students are assessed yearly using the AZELLA test to measure English proficiency.
